Wee Stoorie Press
Kirsty Johnson and Mandy Sinclair of Wee Stoorie Press, are delighted to announce they are one of the recipients of the Scottish Book Trust's, Scots Language Publication Grant, 2021. They wish to express their sincere thanks to them, and their panel of adjudicators, for choosing their four, Phantom the Ginger Mog, picture books for this grant award.
Author
Kirsty Johnson, has been a Scottish traditional fiddle music instructor for many years.
She started writing in 2011, and in 2013, began creating rhyming stories for bairns. Together with illustrator, Mandy Sinclair, they have now published their four books through, Wee Stoorie Press, in the, 'Phantom the ginger mog', seasonal tales series.
Wee Stoorie Press, have presented these four books at schools events for Book Week Scotland, and at book festival schools' and family events.
Kirsty considers being able to capture the imagination and engage with young folk through music, words and pictures, an absolute pleasure and a privilege.
Her yarns are written in Scots an are fu o fun an wee craiturs in aw sorts o adventures she juist loves tae mak up.

Illustrator
Mandy Sinclair is passionate about inspiring creativity in children and young people and has presented illustration workshops and projects in schools, libraries and during national programmes such as; Book Week Scotland, The Big Draw and Aye Write! She has her illustrations in several books by publishers including;
Luath Press, Hodder and The National Trust for Scotland.

She loves to share her pencil with dizzy dinosaurs, grumpy ghosties, bungling bears and all sorts of living and imaginary creatures. Sketching their paths through challenging adventures.
